    "ERA-ACCURATE" DATABASES:

    - PEQ DATABASE (Actual; Viewable)

(Only the first 3 information Tabs are viewable with Guest access, but this is by far the most accurate information regarding Mob Stats and Loot Tables since this is the actual database the server you're on is running from.)

    www.projecteq.net/edit

    - EQ DATABASE:

(This is by far the best source for all information which is NOT viewable with Guest access on the actual PEQ Database. Mob Spawn Locations, Spawn Timers, and other relevant data here are top-notch.)

    ABOUT THIS LIST:

This list contains the most reasonable as well as the most desirable loot that is obtained by a single group.

If you are running multiple groups and still having issues/questions with gearing, I would strongly advise you to just pick one group to focus on and actively pursue Gear/AA's on them. In this era of EverQuest, you cannot expect to continue to beat encounters just by throwing more toons at it. You need diverse, well-rounded, and well-built characters for the relevant encounters of this era.

Zerg-type killing and PBAoE killing both still definitely exist, but they are something which is achieved AFTER getting a few groups fully (or mostly) decked out in AA's and Gear.
It is NOT a viable (nor an efficient) strategy to OBTAIN gear initially.

One group of well AA'd and well geared characters @ Level 70 will vastly outperform even 3 or 4 groups of Level 70 characters who have (virtually) no AA's and empty(ish) gearslots . It is also more efficient this way overall, since your macro has less characters to watch heals over.
Take from that what you will.

    1-50:

    1. BAZAAR/OOC OPTIONS

The "economy" on this server doesn't really exist on a consistent level (though, you can usually find at least a couple traders up in the Bazaar in Red Diamond section; the default place to set up on PEQ).

If you're light on coin, many of the more veteran players on PEQ regularly offer "starting money" to new players who ask politely.

The population has shown itself to be both friendly and helpful with such regularity, that anyone planning on playing here long-term need only politely ask in /ooc (global channel on PEQ) if anyone has starter gear lying around as well; often times the bazaar isn't even required. Most long-term players here tend to keep at least 1 mule supplied with select (useful) low-level items, so the more sociable you are with the community, the higher your chances of not needing to worry about starter gear much at all.

    2. NEWBIE GUIDE
You can view the following thread for some initial gear you can pursue on your own:
    http://projecteq.net/forums/index.php?threads/equipping-chars.15894/#post-76766

    3. DEFIANT GEAR
This is probably the quickest and easiest way to get starter gear with decent stats on your own, as well as nailing down many key focus effects on casters (Like Improved Damage, Spell Haste, etc). Defiant gear exists on a global loot table, roughly scaling to the level of the mobs/zones it is obtained in.
There are 4 tiers of Defiant gear which drop on PEQ. They are (in order from lowest to highest): Crude, Simple, Rough, Ornate. No Defiant tiers beyond Ornate are on any loot tables on PEQ (they do exist on Live, though).

    50-65:

    3. SEBILIS
At this point, there are places where good/valuable gear starts to drop. The easiest in my mind is Sebilis. There are decent drops off the named mobs including a tradable caster shawl (Obulus Death Shroud), a good haste belt (Rune Branded Girdle, 26%) and a good haste cloak (Sibsilian Berserker Cloak, 26%), plus spells and high-value gems. The zone is Kunark area and requires a tracker to do a key quest.
Sebilis also has slow proc weapons (Truncheon of Doom; Warrior, and Loclustre, Rogue), and one of the best tradable cloaks (Heirophant's Cloak), and one of the best tradable regen items (Fungi Covered Tunic).

    4. LDON
With ~2500-3000 points, you can put together relatively decent gear. Yxtta/Ikkinz gear is missing arms, so for an example I'll show those for a tank:
You can utilize the following database to help sort/build LDoN gear for each slot to determine its usefulness to your characters on a case-by-case basis:

    http://www.cardplace.com/eq/ldon/list.cgi

    5. ZONEWIDE RARE FARMABLES:

The following zones each have some drops which can be found on any trash mob (small %):

    2) Ruined City of Dranik (RCoD); Quest Rings (Level 60-65):

    - Melee Version: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=71143; 36% Haste (Worn) plus 110HP/MANA + Stats & Saves

    - Caster Version (Same Questline): https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=71144

In addition, the following list of items is also farmable from Catacombs C:

    - Plate Chest: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70498
    - Chain Chest: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70499

    - Singing Resonance Ring (One of the Earliest Farmable Singing Mods!): https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70427

    7. LEVEL ACCESS POP
Apart from several "alt access" flag quests for Plane of Tactics and Sol Ro Tower, there are a few PoP zones which are accessible with no flags at all in this era (provided you are of appropriate level). Some of these contain a few useful zonewide rare drops that are obtainable (in addition to the normal drops from named mobs):

    PLANES OF POWER ZONEWIDE RARES:
    - Crypt of Decay (Unlocks @ Level 55)
    - Augment: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=80397
    - Plane of Valor (Unlocks @ Level 55)
    - None Known (still a good exp zone)
    - Halls of Honor A (Unlocks @ Level 62)
    - Melee Earring: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=79657
    - Caster Earring: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=79658
    - Augment: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=79659
    - Bastion of Thunder (Unlocks @ Level 62)
    - Melee Shoulders: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=79895
    - Caster Shoulders: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=79896

    - EARLY GATES OF DISCORD ZONES:
The following zones drop items in the 80-100hp range, and can be 1 grouped:
    8. Ferubi in Gates of Discord
    - Zonewide Rares:
    - Caster Mana Preservation Range: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=68546
    - Melee Shoulders: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=68545

    9. Barindu in Gates of Discord
    - Zonewide Rares:
    - Caster Ring: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=68440
    - Melee Earring: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=68441

    10. Vxed in Gates of Discord
    Coming Soon
    11. Tipt in Gates of Discord

Tipt is the harder of the two required Group Instances for Kod`taz flagging. (You can bypass the 4 Barindu Sewers Trials by obtaining the Smith Rondo raid flag).

The end boss is Kyv Heartsriker Jhiru who has 54k Hit Points, Rampages, and quad attacks for 660-1800 per hit. Additionally, his damage increases the further away from his original Spawn Point he is (therefore it's best to fight him right where he spawns).

He drops a decent bracer for each Armor Type, and additionally an All/All charm which (when fully powered up) is one of the better-stat charms available in this era. (18AC, 115HP/Mana, Stat/Saves, and +3% Spell Shielding)

Since there is an NPC who can squelch (dissolve) the instance for you manually (Scribe Gurru in Barindu), this is repeatedly farmable with virtually no downtime in between.

    KYV HEARTSRIKER JHIRU LOOT:

    Plate Bracer: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=68603
    Chain Bracer: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=68604
    Leather Bracer: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=68605
    Cloth Bracer: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=68606
Charm (Arguably a 'Best-in-Slot' item even @ endgame due to +3% Spell Shielding): https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=69059

    66+:

    12. INFECTED PAW
This zone contains many items in the 80-100hp range, as well as many key Focus Effects for various classes (such as Ferocity 2, Cleave 2, Mana Preservation 5, Improved Damage 5, etc.)
Each named generally has some Tradable and some No Trade items on their loot table. Some of the Tradable items are not particularly desirable especially for the effort required to obtain them; whereas others in this zone amount to some of the best (non-attunable) Tradable gear available in this era (similarly the No Drop items are similarly near the top stat-wise for the era in which they can be obtained).
I will not be including the Tradable items which are not in the upper tier of stats for the zone (some are genuinely awful & not worth a mention really since there's Required Levels on all of it).

    13. LUCLIN RAIDS
Raid gear: You can probably do all raids up to Lord Inquistor Sseru, Emperer Ssra, the cursed cycle, Shei Vinitras, and some Vex Thal yourself.

Unfortunately, relatively few of the raids you can do will actually offer gear upgrades. If this is an avenue you wish to pursue, it's probably best to look up various zones/mobs on your own based on which slots you still need to fill out. Listing them all in a post here is not that adventageous as most of the utility here is case-by-case rather than being generically desirable across the board.

Shei Vinitras drops some useful items, but the Death Touch can be problematic:
    Bard Singing Clickie: (https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=26574)
    Caster Defensive Clickie: (https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=26601)
    Tailoring Skill Modifier (15%): (https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=26561)
    Tinkering Skill Modifier (10%): (https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=26570)

    14. KOD'TAZ/YXTTA
Here's a list of 1 groupable gear from Kod`taz accessed zones:

    15. OOW TIER 1 ARMOR

It's probably best to think of OoW Quest armor along a similar lines to the PoP Quest Armor (Ornate, Elemental). In this era, with the level cap being 70 instead of 65, the stats and focus effects on the PoP Quest Armor are outdated to a point where they serve little purpose at all.

The OoW Tier 1 (and eventually Tier 2) Quest armor stays relevant for much longer in its class of gear and so is a far better pursuit ultimately.

Additionally, for those concerned with more long-term goals, the faction work required for Tier 1 armor is the same as is required for Tier 2. OoW Tier 2 Armor amounts to the best equippable gear in the game for this era, so it is a worthwhile pursuit indeed.

    ADDITIONAL COMMENTS/THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS LIST:

Here are the best camps I have found for the various rare pieces:
Chest - Good luck getting Tiorpat or Veliktorin up. Not worth camping. Get your chest items in RSS.
Legs - Again, not worth camping, get your legs in MPG.
Head - a massive bazu in Noble's Causeway has the highest drop percentage. It can spawn off a single static PH. Easy camp.
    http://mqemulator.net/npc.php?id=303136
Bracer - Girplan Mastercrafter in WoS, if you use the north cubby camp you can pull the 2 placeholders for this in one cycle.
    http://mqemulator.net/npc.php?id=300082

The following two slots for Tier 1 Quest Armor often have very useful focus effects and/or abilities on them. They are a fantastic way to fill out & augment your characters, as these slots will hold their utility for quite a while even into raiding.

**Arms** - Noc Slavehunter has the highest drop percentage and is in an easy spot to camp in RCoD with multiple named's near.
    http://mqemulator.net/npc.php?id=336140
**Feet** - a poisonous murkglider in Nobles Causeway is the best mob to camp. 23pc drop rate on a spawn with 3xph who are right next to each other (10pc chance of mob spawning).
    http://mqemulator.net/npc.php?id=303134&view=generalinfo

    16. Muramite Proving Grounds (MPG)

This zone is a massive maze; attempting to kill (or even move through) here without a map is not recommended. Most maps even are zoomed quite far out by default upon first entering, leading to it appearing at a glance to have numerous routes to get from place to place. For the most part, however, there is only one route to any location in the zone.

There are six (6) NPC's spread across the furthest points of the zone who are the request mobs for both the MPG Group and MPG Raid Trials (1 Group & 1 Raid Trial for each NPC). In the center of the maze is the zone-in to Riftseeker's Sanctum (RSS) which has a level requirement of 69+ to enter.

The following 3 items have a small chance to drop off any mob in the zone:

    ZONEWIDE RARES:
    - Melee Mask: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70280
    - Cleave Ring: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70282
    - Caster Range: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70281

In addition, the list below contain the other (non-instance) drops from MPG by their respective Class/Slot:

    17. Riftseekers' Sanctum (RSS)

This zone has a Level 69+ requirement for entry, but no other flags or keys are required. It provides some of the best group-obtainable loot, most notably providing an easy way to camp/fill out chest/wrist slot(s), as well as some weapons, a Pet Power focus, and some other useful things.

    - Zonewide Rares:
    - Melee Range: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70325
    - Caster Mask: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70326
    - All/All Earring: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70327
    - Augment: https://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=80388

    - FIRE SIDE:
This is the entry-level side for those freshly coming in to RSS. There are no particularly nasty surprises waiting on any of the trash or named trash. Just watch out for the two raid bosses that can spawn here: Chaliak and Queen Pyrilonis. They are each tucked away into their own respective alcoves throughout their side of the zone, so just keep an eye out while you move around.

    - ICE SIDE:
This is a slightly more advanced level side of RSS. There are comparable drops (albeit different items/slots) off the named trash, but there is a Mesmerize effect that some of the trash mobs can cast which some find annoying. With proper strategy/planning, it is really not particularly difficult to overcome. Only the following trash mobs on Ice Side can cast Freezing Touch (Mesmerize; -400 Cold Resist Adjust):

    - a gelidran deathfreeze
    - a gelidran frostblade
    - a gelidran icedagger
    - a gelidran iceskin

Additionally, there are virtually identical raid mobs here as there are on Fire Side; Feratha and King Gelaqua. They are each similarly tucked away into their own respective alcoves throughout their side of the zone, so just keep an eye out while you move around.

    18. MPG GROUP TRIALS:
Each time a character completes one of these six (6) trials for the first time, they unlock 1 rank of the Trials of Mata Muram (Veteran AA Tab). Combined with Discordant Defiance (General AA Tab), it is possible to get your resist cap up to 600 vs All (Which is still easily topped out with gear & bardsongs)

Each of the MPG Group Trials involves the exact same zone instance map, but with a different strategy element required for victory. Regardless of the Trial, each one has a 15 minute timer in effect; auto-failing everyone after that. In addition, once each of the Trials begins, you cannot leave the central combat area (it's an almost immediate Death Touch to do so).

These items are all in the 200-225 HP/MANA range, and are unquestionably the best single-group obtainable drops in this era on PEQ.
Each of the six (6) Trials drops 1 random item off its loot table of 3 possible items (as indicated below).

    PARTING THOUGHTS (Additional Groups):

Once you are able to not only beat, but regularly (per their lockouts) farm all six (6) MPG Group Trials for loot, then you are at a point where it is finally efficient to begin thinking about an additional group (if indeed you choose to expand).

By this point, your gear and AA's are to a point where you have a reasonably good baseline for how much healing power you need (with AA's and Focus Effects), how much more DPS you can fit in, etc. These judgments vary widely based on personal play-style, class selection, and more - so there really is no one "best" formula for this other than getting a group of toons to this point and then making your own evaluation(s).

    Good Luck!

Legs are in MPG, not RSS Apollo. I find the best progression (for a new group) is to get to 70 farming loot outside MPG then hit MPG to work legs. Note, you can invis about a fair bit in MPG/RSS.

I'll add some clarity in by including MPG (Open Zone) at some point. It should probably highlight (at very least) which items/camps those legs are...

If you go the LDoN route, use http://www.cardplace.com/eq/ldon/list.cgi
And to get the most out of your LDoN gear, farm the mamma greigbeast in Tipt, she drops an aug every time that goes in the slot 1. You can get a 40 hp aug(or mana) for the type 2 slot, and a 30 hp or 30 hp mana aug to make your bp 170 hp(or mana), which isnt bad for a group level BP

For early gates Riwwi also has a melee cloak and a caster cloak. Caster cloak . Can't remember the name of the melee cloak.

PoP ornate is also a really good way to get some early focus effects. The solro alternate access quest is really good for this.

The riwwi cloaks are already on there. I intentionally didn't include PoP ornate because by the time you can obtain it yourself with a full group, the focus effects on it no longer affect current spells. All of the PoP stuff was designed around a lvl 65 cap, and the bonuses are so low on ornate that they don't stay relevant very long at all.

Plus, there's gear out there that's equally easy to obtain, but with better stats. I guess I really don't see PoP ornate as a genuinely viable (or worthwhile) pursuit. Especially once you start talking about alt access'ing toons in (that's a lot of time just doing that).

I'd be eager to hear if there's something I'm overlooking on this point, but as far as I can tell PoP is now entirely obsolete gear-wise. Between Ornate Defiant, zonewide rares across the map, and multiple additional expansions in since its release, I just can't see hunting down molds and materials for such mediocre gear.

If enough people like, however, I can add PoP stuff to a write-up (I'll just likely finish stuff like MPG first once I get the time)

Tipt and MPG are done; I highlighted the Leg Slots which are referenced in with the OoW Tier 1 Armor section as they are far easier to camp/obtain. Figured I'd just include the rest of the loot for the open-world zone while I was at it too.

Haste Item - easy to get - https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=2971

Basically, request any Dranik Sewers C instance and just go in and kill. You will have all the tapestries in about 30 minutes. For extra credit, you can farm Anguish signets in one of the instances at the same time.

Best bang for the buck haste item by far in the game is the Soulscream Belt in Veksar: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=21436

Easy camp and pretty fast respawn for a 31% haste. Not worth camping FBSS or Silver Chitin Handwraps or otherwise for an early game haste. Can do this camp with 1 group in the mid 50s no problem.

Good info on both of these. I didn't want to split up easily-farmed haste items despite these suggestions being aimed at different levels, so I stuck them both together at a point in the list where (I feel) it's most advantageous to begin actively farming for it.

    Thank you, gentlemen

Added links at the top to the "guest-viewable" PEQ Server Database as well as Maudigan's mqemulator page.

These are the 2 best sources for in-game information relevant to this era.

Thanks so much, this is great!! One thing that can also be really helpful early on is tribute for foci and even a touch of extra AC, ft, etc if you want. Droga and Veksar have some really nice tribute items—band of twilight from Veksar sticks out in my memory—and the tribute effects are pretty easily managed with e3 once you get them set up.
