Newbie Setup Issues

Hello All,

Really excited to get things rolling, I have a fresh install EQ1 with MQ2. Four login accounts and 4 characters created. MQ2 loads on all. As suggested I run the eqbcs2 and then MQ2. Login on the character it shows MQ2 loading but with everything I try I cannot get EQBCS to connect. I have reinstalled and followed steps three seperate times over the last 5 hours with no success. I am thinking I am missing something obvious, any pointers?

You need to run ipconfig and see what network ip you need to connect to, then in game do /bccmd connect 101.168.0.1 etc or what ever number it is

if your only using one computer you can just localhost.. 127.0.0.1

 

I've done the basic setup steps 1-3 and 1,2.
After clicking on the Shortcut it displays:

The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_30.dll was not found.

I've reinstalled twice.
Is there a patch? did I miss something?

Edit: I did notice that there is a file called EQGraphicsDX9.dll but its not helping any..

 

I did. I've redone it a few times, tried running as admin.
Nothing to get past missing d3dx9_30.dll

 

Went through and downloaded the directx web-setup and ran it.
everything seems to be working.
Now to figure out how to box..
